08 November 2009 02:00 - AFC Trojans 4-2 Tigers |
| Getting better... The Tigers put in a much improved performance from the previous few weeks against the current league leaders. With a reduced squad Andy moved Lucas Cox to centre back and he coped very well. Having gone behind and soaked up a fair amount of pressure the Tigers equalised with a super strike from Chris Bates following some excellent work by the impressive Austin Cahill. The boys continued to play some super football and above all else pleased the coach with more signs of desire than had been shown for a while. Unfortunately we were playing a very strong team and by half time were 3-1 down. The second half started badly with Trojans scoring within minutes. The worry of floodgates opening were soon put to bed with the Tigers getting into their stride and continuing with the good passing football shown in the first half. Chris Bates scored his and the Tigers second with a great header (all that practice paid off Chris!). The Tigers played through to the end and could well have reduced the deficit, but it wasn’t to be. In summary a much better performance and one that hopefully we can kick on from... |

01 November 2009 02:00 - Camberley Town 3-1 Tigers |
| A bad day at the office... Not one of the Tigers best performances and one to put behind us. Following a run of three vicotries against our local rivals it was they that were clearly up for the game and it was one that we never really got in to. Camberley took an early lead and despite Charlie Roberts equalising soon afterwards following a super pass from Kallum Harris we didnt manage to push on and conceeded two further goals before half time. The second half was a little better in that we battled hard at the back, however we lacked a cutting edge that I'm sure will be worked on in training on Friday! |

04 October 2009 02:00 - Finchampstead FC 2-1 Tigers |
| This was the Tigers 3rd league match of the season and an early encounter with last season’s league champions.... Both games last season were tough and competitive and this was no exception. The pitch had a very significant slope which suggested a game of 2 halves and that’s what we got. Tigers went downhill 1st half and dominated the play for the majority of the half, scoring an excellent direct free-kick from Charlie Roberts midway through the half, and missing 2 other excellent chances to convert a scoreline reflective of the possession. However, 5 minutes before halftime some uncharacteristic defensive play led to a Finch equalizer and we went in level at the break.
The 2nd half was played in the Tigers half for the most part, and although we defended very well, Finch managed to score the winner with an excellent headed goal from a corner with just over 10 minutes remaining. The result was probably just about the right outcome and we’ll be ready to turn the tables on the return match at Curley Park . |

27 September 2009 12:00 - Tigers 4-2 Pinewood Pumas |
| The Tigers maintained their 100% start to the season with a convincing 4-2 win over local rivals Pinewood....The game started with the Tigers looking eager to put in a good performance over strong opposition. James O'connell opened the scoring with a bullet header from just outside the 6 yard box, the boys continued to play good flowing football and had a number of opportunities to extend their lead, however it was the Pumas who were next to score, leveling after putting us under heavy pressure. The second half saw the Tigers begin as they had the first, nice passing football creating a number of chances, the second goal came from Charlie Roberts, following in bravely. Austin Cahill scored first league goal for the Tigers going round the Pinewood keeper to make it 3-1. Harvey Kohout put us 4-1 up, many thought from a good cross that flew in, I'm sure Harvey will tell you it was a stunning finish ;-) Pinewood grabed their second, when the unfortunate Kallum Harris put through his own net, that led to a late flurry from the Pumas, but the Tigers dug in to come away with an impressive win. |

13 September 2009 11:00 - Clanfield 3-3 Tigers (a.e.t Clanfield won 4-3 on penalties) |
| Hampshire Cup (1st Round) - A bad day at the office! A strange game that saw us dominate the opening 15 minutes and we should probably have been 3 goals up before Clanfield took the lead. The boys didnt play the flowing football that had won us the Reading Plate, however we managed to equalise through Charlie Roberts and go ahead with a stunning goal by Harvey Kohout late into the second half. At that point we were all thinking about the next round, however the thought lasted no more than a minute when Clanfield equalised following some slack defending. Clanfield took a 3-2 lead and it looked all over for the Tigers until Paul Keenan equalised with a few minutes remaining. Extra time was all one way traffic but we couldn’t find a winner. The lottery of penalties saw us miss two and Calanfield go through missing one. The boys will need to up their game in our next match against the dangerous Pinewood. |

06 September 2009 02:00 - Tigers 3-2 Sandhurst Spartans |
| The new look Tigers produced a fantastic comeback in the second half to provide an opening day win for the 2009/10 season... In a very competitive "local derby" against newly promoted Sandhurst the Tigers twice came from behind to record a 3-2 victory. Having gone a goal down from a well executed corner the Tigers pulled level with a good goal from Charlie Sassi-Roberts, however they went in 2-1 down following an almost copy cat goal of their 1st from the Spartans. To be fair but for some excellent goalkeeping from James Somerville the half time score could have been far worse! Andy's half time talk seemed to do the trick and a more focused Tigers team took to the field in the 2nd half. The game continued at its quick pace with opportunity for both sides. However it was to be the Tigers day with goals from Chris Bates and Daniel Sheehan winning the day. A very entertaining game and a good result; well done boys! |

05 September 2009 11:00 - Reading Football Festival |
 | Tigers off to a winning start... So for those that went along the awful organisation and hanging around were rewarded with victory in the plate final! The aim of the entering the tornament was for Andy to try out some systems and above all else to see how well the boys jelled as a team. The end result speaks for itself, bar the one match that we lost the boys looked confident on the ball and as the day went on (and on and on...) look more and more like a team. Our record to victory tells a story too, we played 6 matches, won 3, drew 2 and lost 1. We scored 7 goals (Chris Bates 2, Charlie Roberts 2, Lucas Cox, Freddie Offley, George Burgess). A great start and a nice way to begin the season, however the serious stuff starts tomorrow with our first league match against Sandhurst Spartans... |
