A great away win from an enthralling match against a physical and talented Woodley team. A combination of disciplined defending and rapier fast counter attacking led to the Vikings snatching the spoils. Our pace out wide and through the middle consitently worried our Woodley hosts as we forged a 3-1 lead. Woodley scored a consolation 2nd just three minutes from time but the Vikings remained resolute to run out victorious and re-enter the scrap at the top of the table....well played to all the boys.
The Vikings made a winning return to form in an enthralling encounter. This was the classic game of two halves dictated by a strong howling wind running down the pitch. Both teams coped with the conditions admirably. In the first half Curley Park forced the issue and with the wind at their backs gained a 3-1 interval lead with some rapid passing football resulting in some wonderful goals.Bracknell came roaring back and scored early in the second half. The Vikings then defended with determination and composure to hang on for a well earned victory
The Vikings mid season dip in form continued as we suffered a 3rd straight defeat in a dour encounter with Winnersh.
The heavy pitch made for low quality football and despite some phases of neat possession the Vikings never did enough to force a victory against a resolute Winnersh. Whilst a draw would have been a fair result, credit to our opponents for being more determined with a stronger will to win on the day.
The Vikings made a dramatic cup exit not so much at the hands of Div 1 Meadway but rather solely at the hands of their star striker who was definatley the most potent attacker we have faced this season. Indeed for long periods the Vikings controlled this game and played some exceptional football, scoring some exquisite goals to lead the game 2-1 midway through the first half. Meadway then played to their strength....get the ball up to their number 10 as quickly a possible and he duly obliged with 4 goals to sink the Vikings and send our opponents through to the last 8 of the cup. A great game in which the all the Viking players emerge with credit despite the loss.
The Vikings long unbeaten run came to an end in spectacular style with a competent Hawley team running out 4-1victors. Our opponents, inspired by their top class keeper, counter attacked with purpose to catch the Vikings napping with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Despite Vikings continuous pressure and we could not take clear goalscoring opportunites and managed to hit their woodwork 3 times in the second half. Ben Clifford slotted our only goal and well done to Hawley for a resolute display.
A hard fought and deserved victory for the Vikings against a determined Binfield team. With the squad depleted through absence and illness all those involved worked tirelessly and continued to play the neat passing football that has characterised our season to date. Unusually all 3 goals came from defenders as we secured another valuable 3 points ......well done boys
An enthralling game in which the Vikings led on 3 occassions but were pegged back by a spirited and useful Aldershot team. Quality of the football was good from both sides on a heavy, big pitch. The Vikings tried manfully to force a result in the last 10 minutes but the 'Shots' were resolute in defence and the draw was a fair result.
Another throughly impressive and fluent performance from the Vikings in their cup win against a game Cove Youth team who played some tidy football at times. The Vikings produced some razor sharp passing moves in the first half and led 4-0 at half-time. The was no let up after the interval and some wonderful team movement resulted in a 3 more goals for a comprehensive victory to progress to the 3rd round of the East Berks cup.....well done to all the lads
A thoroughly competitive match in which the Vikings had to recover from a slow start during which Hearts took a 2-0 lead. Curley Park then found their quick passing and movement to come storming back and score 5 great goals. Well done to all 14 Vikings involved in showing character, resillience and skill to overcome determined opponents
Another thoroughly enjoyable match against a bright and skillfull Bracknell side. Despite being without our regular strikeforce The Vikings passed the ball with speed and precision to score 5 great goals from 5 different players. A real team effort and another excellent away perfromance from all 14 Vikings involved.....well done boys
A thoroughly impressive and dominant performance both offensively and defensively. The Vikings played with pace and composure to subdue an Aldershot side who played some neat passing football. All 14 Vikings played at the top of their form to create and score some great goals
